6/4/04 - Life with Two Dads Is Not So Gay
I saw this article posted at Being! entitled War Over Boy Raised By Gays. Remember a few years back when a New York court awarded custody of a baby to a gay couple over a woman they claimed to be a surrogate?
Well, the little boy with two daddies is now six and
He punches and kicks his teachers, hits and bites himself, curses and says he wants to kill himself as often as twice a month, according to the new report, completed in January by NYU's Child Study Center. It also says he repeatedly kisses and touches classmates inappropriately and once ran around naked.
Hello? Doesn't this raise a red flag to anyone? If his parents were conservative, religious homeschoolers everyone would be up in arms to remove him from his home. Yet, when the boy's mother challenged the custody ruling in light of the boy's disturbed behavior, the judge refused to listen.
Ugh, I can't even discuss it without getting angry so I better shut up and get on my knees for these people.

Well, I do want to say that I was raised by two lesbians, and while I do have my problems... they're not so severe. I think there could very well be something else wrong with the kid, in addition to the stress of being raised by two gay men, and I think all avenues of what could be wrong with him need to be looked into.
Meanwhile, I think the state needs to think about awarding temporary custody to a good foster home, at the very least, until it can sort out what the hell is going on here. You have to wonder how stable the mother is if she got wrapped up with these two guys.

Nathan, I would agree with your question about the mother. Raising the child as a threesome?
Why must we reject the elegant simplicity of marriage when it comes to procreation? Baby's mommy + Baby's daddy in a clear, committed relationship. Everyone knows where everyone stands. Naturally time and events might force variations on this time-honored theme, but why intentionally start off a baby's life in such confusion?

Hey, Nathan. Nice to have you around. I think I remember you from PM. :)
Yes, I didn't necessarily think that the mother should get the boy (since her judgment is questionable for getting involved with them in the first place) but like Nathan, I wondered why a temp foster parent wasn’t sought while this was all figured out. I mean kids can be crazy in their behavior but this is not the norm.
